David A Reston

David Reston is skilled advocate, litigation specialist, mediator, negotiator and adviser with over 35 years experience as solicitor and nearly 20 years at the Bar.

Mr Reston trained and worked initially in London and was subsequently became senior partner in 2 substantial provincial practices namely Restons – Liverpool and Cheshire and then Booth & Co (now Addleshaw Goddard Leeds). Mr Reston’s international experience is substantial and culminated in a 3 year appointment as senior counsel for a Bermuda based international law firm. He speaks French to business standard.

David Reston formed Restons Solicitors of York in 1998 to offer high quality specialist Legal services in litigation and business issues. David Reston is well known and respected in legal circles and amongst judiciary and the practice ethos and scope provided a perfect fit for Shirtcliffe and Co as they sought to develop an already successful practice to better serve the York and North Yorkshire region

Substantial cases include cases in relation to Human Rights as well commercial and property

PRACTICE EXPERIENCE

Formerly senior partner of an established Merseyside practice David Reston was invited to join international law firm Conyers Dill Pearman, Bermuda, as a senior counsel. On returning to England he was appointed senior litigation partner in a “Top 100” Leeds practice and subsequently opened his own niche practice in York to provide a bespoke legal service to business and personal clients and to other solicitors’ practices.
